Firebird Camp for Girls—Established 1954
Thirty-eight years after the founding of Camp Roosevelt for Boys, Firebird Camp for Girls became a reality. It was the year that children began receiving the Salk Polio Vaccine, Babe Didrickson won the US Women's Open Golf Championship for the third time and Play-Doh was born.
This traditional summer camp offers a broad program with more than 35 activities and has a diverse ethnic, regional and international camper base. Like its brother camp, Camp Roosevelt for Boys, it is dedicated to excellence and a wonderful way for campers to make new friends, have fun, and develop their newly-found independence (and all the challenges and responsibility that go with it). Our staff, whose primary concern is for the safety and well-being of our campers, is well-trained and experienced. Firebird Camp for Girls is accredited by the American Camp Association, and like Roosevelt, is more affordable and easier to get to than most private camps. The camp shares weekly socials and some programming activities with Camp Roosevelt for Boys.
