Q. How does camp handle a homesick child?
A. Most of the time campers are so busy they don’t have time to be homesick. Even when a camper appears to be “homesick,” it usually passes quickly. Our staff is carefully selected for their understanding and compassion.

Q.  Can a parent call and speak to the Director if a child sends a disturbing letter home?
A.  At Camp Roosevelt, we like to think of this situation as a count to three event. One letter from a camper who seems to be unhappy is a fairly normal reaction. A second or third letter, which echoes the first, might signal that it’s time to call the director.
